Doç. Dr. Ebru Gül Yılmaz

After a banking career spanning 22 years, during which I held various positions such as senior auditor, branch manager, department manager, and group manager, I finally transitioned to the academic world, which had always been a dream of mine, in February 2019 at Istanbul Gelişim University as a full-time faculty member with the title of associate professor.

Between 2016 and 2019, while continuing my banking career, I also taught courses at Istanbul Kültür University hourly. With the transition to full-time academia, I also took on numerous administrative roles such as vice-deanship, chairmanship of the faculty quality committee, department chairmanship, and membership in the faculty board of directors. I have a total of 20 years of administrative experience.

However, the aspect of academic life I enjoy the most is teaching and conducting scientific research. My research is mainly on the economics of migration & refugees and technology & foreign trade. I primarily work with empirical methods and panel data analysis. My teaching style and communication approach aim to prepare my students for the professional world. I am currently working on software projects that translate theory into practice and organizing events that bring together students with real sector and government institutions.

She mainly uses empirical methods with a focus on panel data analysis, combining her long-standing experience in the banking sector with academic rigor in economics and international trade.
